portfolio: dutch icons revisited “the dutch + tulip bulbs”

the dutch + tulips.

in 2017 most of the eat’inspirations we created were part of a larger project ‘dutch icons revisited‘.

every 2-3 months we selected another group of dutch icons, which inspired us to all kinds of edible stories.

as “the dutch” and tulips are inextricably connected, it was therefore a MUST to have various remarkable tulip stories on the menu.

  • we used 2 different varieties, and prepared the bulbs in various ways marinated, deep fried, a crumble and a puree.
  • the other ingredients we used: chestnut, and jerusalem artichoke.


  • by the way, a deep fried tulip bulb tastes like a chestnut.

portfolio: in search of master talents

eat’inspiration dutch masters III (june-sept 2017).

  • part of our project ‘dutch icons revisited’ in which we explore using regularly changing themes: what makes the dutch dna.


  • eat’inspiration dutch masters III. 
    • most people link the concept of dutch masters to our dutch golden age painters. however, we believe that we have far more master talents in the netherlands than painters only and in different periods. so we stretched the concept.
    • for this new series of dutch masters we created 7 dishes inspired by 7 different master talents. for instance: geert jan jansen (art forger + painter), iris van herpen (fashion artist/designer), etc.


  • in the image. a classic dutch pudding (vegan version) flambé. this dish is inspired by and a tribute to the project ‘where there is smoke’ by maarten baas.  

sonos x quentin deronzier vernissage

mid october 2017 we were commissioned for a real fun food art project during amsterdam dance event (ade).

gabriel ercicia (creative agency gowtu) invited us to create food inspired by the works and projects of quentin deronzier for the visitors of the vernissage.

quentin deronzier is a french visual artist and creative director, best known for his surrealist and colorful album artworks and music videos. he blends conceptual messages with vibrant colors and iridescent textures.

the sonos x quentin deronzier vernissage was held at the pop up sonos house singel 80. the exhibition was part of the ade 2017 programme.


100% vegan for press launch + opening LUSH flagship store amsterdam


  • in march 2017 we were invited by LUSH fresh handmade cosmetics to create the catering of the press launch (march 16th) and the opening (march 17th) of their flagship store at kalverstraat amsterdam.

the brief.

  • 100% vegan
  • colourful, playful and inspired by their products like the bath oils and perfumes, which are only available at this flagship store.
  • flowers.
  • easy to eat and drink.

dec 31, 2017: a one day only new year’s eve eating special

on december 31 we say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018.  

new year’s eve is for many of us a moment of reflection on what happened during the year in our personal lives and in the world as well.

on this special night we share with you some of this year’s highlights in 5 courses, which are inspired by some remarkable and trending news items.

to give you a small appetizer: ever nibbled on some fake news or denial? ever had some bites of a dutch master or tasted the typical dutch way of bending the rules? 

if not, in that case you are cordially invited to celebrate with us the last moments of 2017 in a very playful way.
