sept 18 – nov 26, 2017 on the menu: experience “the dutch + water”
‘the dutch’ and water are closely linked. for ‘the dutch’ water has even become part of their cultural identity.
to give a small impression:
water management runs in the genes of ‘the dutch’. draining their country and keeping their feet dry is a process the dutch started centuries ago and continue to do to this day.
in winter time -for instance- the dutch conquer the frozen water with their ice skates.
and … during the dutch golden age commerce was thriving because rivers and seas offered the opportunity to travel to all parts of the world, which influenced the dutch cuisine.
water inspires since centuries dutch artists, farmers, tradesmen, scientists, engineers, etc. etc.
the eat’inspiration dutch waterworks explores in a playful way an ad random selection of water matters to showcase the evolving and interesting relationship of ‘the dutch’ with water.
