januari 2012: the naturalists. @ amsterdam fashion week
during amsterdam fashion week january 2012 de culinaire werkplaats presented the project ‘the naturalists.’ a colour and texture forecast for fashion fabrics 2013 and beyond. hereafter the project description (approach, eat’inspiration & exhibition).
the project the naturalists.
- the approach. the project the naturalists captures the sign of the time in a colour and texture forecast for fashion & food 2013 and beyond… it consists of an eat’experience and a small collection of collages. marjolein selected 5 global trends which she made tangible with words and visuals. she selected the following trends: neo romanticism, nesting, down-to-earth, new landscapes and ethnic chic. first she translated these trends to textures. based upon marjolein’s insights eric captured the essence of both trends and textures in 5 multi layered dishes which address all the senses and more. the ingrediënts are interpreted to a colour forecast per trend;
- the eat’inspiration. a food = fashion adventure in 5 dishes along trends, textures and colours. click at the following link for the menu of the eat’inspiration the naturalists. in pdf-format
- the exhibition. the forecast is also translated to various collages/installations. the exhibition consists amongst others of samples of edible conceptual fashion fabrics and colour/texture codes per featured trend.
food equals fashion
