launch underground label ‘by m.e.’
may 16, 2010, the designer’s couple marjolein & eric have introduced their first underground label ‘by m.e.’ at the 1st underground farmersmarket of amsterdam.
triggered by the concept ‘underground’ they have choosen to take along 3 of their favourite black delicatessen:
- naked black potato chips to go and a choice of several spice dips;
- sticks with marinated black olives in dark chocolate;
- pesto with black sesame seed.
this 1st farmersmarket is an initiative by marjan ippel, foodtrendwatcher. she wants, just like mrs. marmitelover in london, create a stage for micro- or house producers of very, very tasty delicatessen.
the venue was kept secret till the last moment and anounced via twitter.
about 23 housemade producers gave acte de présence and showed the world their best products. this was, by the way, not difficult as the market attracted a lot of interesting visitors.
the introduction of by m.e. in the culinary underground scene of amsterdam was very successfull. so you will hear more about ‘by m.e.’ in the future.

in that case you should visit on march 6-7 ITALIA AL DENTE, Loods 6, amsterdam. you can enjoy all kinds of italian delicatessen, wines, art, workshops, etc.
during this weekend you’ll find de culinaire werkplaats in Loods 6:
- in the entrance of Loods 6 we present several italian eat’interpretations & inspirations (food art) based on the inspirational concept ‘italy – the garden of europe. and . . . our central focus is: which typical italian vegetables and fruits have their roots in italy. amongst other things we have an installation of corsages made out of fruit and vegetable paper representing well and less known italian produce.
- by the way, we take some adventurous pesto’s with a twist along.

one of our best friends passed away unexpectedly, to pay respects de culinaire werkplaats has changed its programme for this festival into shebakes.insilence.

in de week van 18 t/m 26 april 2009 viert de provincie noord holland zaaiweek heerlijk noord holland.
deze hele week serveren circa 100 Noord-Hollandse restaurants een Heerlijk Noord-Holland Lentemenu, met een hoofdrol voor biologische en streekproducten.
ook de culinaire werkplaats is vanaf donderdag 22 april a.s. één van de deelnemende eetgelegenheden. dan start namelijk onze nieuwe mee.eetkaart. onze nieuwe kaart heeft als inspiratiebron ‘licht’ en we maken zoveel mogelijk gebruik van ingrediënten die biologisch en/of afkomstig uit de streek zijn. meer…
