what started as the fair trade restaurant week has become the puur restaurant week, and this year the event is held from November 14-20, 2011.

participating restaurants offer during this week a menu in which the ingredients are organic and/or fair trade. if fish is part of the menu, this should be sustainable: (MSC certified or

if you want to join and/or want to know where organic and fair trade products and sustainable fish are available. or if you want to know more about organic, fairtrade and /or sustainable seafood, or if you need inspiration, you are welcome at special inspiration workshops for the hospitality branch.

always wanted to know all the details about the birds and the bees? did you know for instance that bees can live without human beings, but we can not live without bees? bees fly from flower to flower, because they are very fond of its nectar. during a flower visit they get pollen on their legs and thus pollinate  the next flower they visit. in other words: bees take care of the reproduction of flowers; without bees no being. so it’s time for a tribute to the bee: i love beeing festival. meer…


28 & 29 mei 2011: fabulous food festival 2011

on may 28-29, 2011 you are invited to the fabulous food festival. an culinary event where sustainability and enjoying meet. de culinaire werkplaats will be present as well. this weekend we bring along our almost legendary black quinoa croquettes (savourish & sweetish). you can taste them at the festival, but also buy a package to surprise your friends at home.

these products can soon be bought in our new studio & showroom ‘eat’inspirations’ as well as in our online webshop. the black quinoakroketjes (savourish and sweetish) are also available  gluten-free  and vegan.

19-20 maart 2011: installatie recipe colorcodes italia al dente

on march 19-20, 2011 it will be  italia al dente 2011 time. de culinaire werkplaats will participate this year again. especially for the 2011 edition of this culinary festival de culinaire werkplaats has designed an installation at the intersection of food & art ‘recipe colorcodes’, in which italian vegetables are the main ingredients. you’ll find the installation at the entrance.

at the 2010 edition of italia al dente we presented culinary italy as  the vegetable garden of europe. this year we have translated recipes of italian recipes into a color code reflecting the used/necessary ingredients, the proportion and following sequence of appearance in the recipe. meer…

in january 2011 de culinaire werkplaats was for the 4th time downtown location during amsterdam international fashion week. especially for this occasion marjolein & eric created the project ‘natural matters’ a colour & texture forecast for future fashion fabrics 2012 and beyond…

this project -just like the other fashion week projects: taste the unwearables, wear or where to eat– is a call to pay more attention to sustainability in food & fashion and exposures the vulnerability of the ecosystem.

tasty colours de culinaire werkplaats will be presenting tasty colours during the 3rd part of the vitavertofestival: the vitaverto block party, utrechtsestraat, amsterdam, on saturday november 27, 2010 from 13.00 – 17.00 uur.

tasty colours is a festive and tasty call for eating as much colourful vegetables and fruits as possible as a tribute to biodiversity.
