eurosky (klm) japanese edition, 1ste quarter 2012

lately 2 japanese  flight attendants stopped by for an eat’inspiration. they arrived with a copy of eurosky in which a report on dutch design and new trends. de culinaire werkplaats was one of the featured hot spots.

Landelijke top 10 en toplijstjes per regioin november has launched their  2012 edition with the 501 most special restaurants of the netherlands.

to our surprise de culinaire werkplaats is number 8 of the top 10 restaurants of amsterdam according to specialbite.  we feel very honoured.

9 november 2011: puur restaurant week 2012 award ceremony

from november 14 – 20, 2011 it was pure restaurant week 2011 in the netherlands, previously known as the fair trade restaurant week.

de culinaire werkplaats is one of the participants of this restaurantweek and one of the 6 nominees for the award ‘the purest restaurant of nl 2012’. the other nominees are: aangenaam (haarlem), fifteen (amsterdam), merkelbach ( amsterdam), de veldkeuken (culemborg) and natuurlijk (egmond aan zee).

the jury report on de culinaire werkplaats:

de culinaire werkplaats combines sustainability and creativity inimitably. the entrepreneurs do everything to make guests feel and experience how great it is to elevate sustainability to art. (martine zuil, jurymember and chief editor misset horeca & catering).

to our regret we could not be present at the award ceremony. we congratulate all the nominees and the winner ‘natuurlijk’.

pure restaurant week is an initiative of, max havelaar and msc.


10 nov 2011: launch chocomania – the body shop

on november 10, 2011 the body shop launched ‘chocomania’  to the dutch press.  chocomania is a collection of body products varying from  body scrub to shampoo in which fair trade chocolate is the main ingrediënt.

de culinaire werkplaats hosted the event and made especially for the launch 5 noshes and nibbles.

starting point for these bites are the textures of the various products, and all the edible ingrediënts used in chocomania, such as sesame seeds, olives, coconut, and off course dark chocolate as the leading character.

an installation illustrated that chocolate consists of an enormous amount of components, over 800, such as vitamins, minerals, all kinds of antioxidants, etc.

7 nov 2011: eet meer groenten perslunch

since 2009 the vegetable chef frank fol and  gault millau organize the yearly election the best benelux vegetable restaurant.

on november 7, 2011, the new winners of the award 2012 will be announced during the presslunch at ‘t aards paradijs, nevele-merendree.

last year this award is received by both  ‘t aards paradijs and de culinaire werkplaats. to our regret we are not allowed to defend the title. but lieve lootens (‘t aardse paradijs) and eric meursing (de culinaire werkplaats) will together with frank fol and  wim ballieu (alfin) taking care of the press luncheon.

1 nov 2011: stay hungry, stay foolish

at the end of october 2011 Second Sight Magazine #27 will be launched. central focus:  ‘New Power’. it’s about changing power relations, but also showcases New Energy.

marjolein contributed to this issue and is very pleased to receive the  2nd sight members only and the contributors of New Power at de culinaire werkplaats for some networking, noshes, nibbles and drinks. chief editor andrea wiegman will present the new issue and tick off the most inspiring articles.
